Debra Sloane, Psy.D., BCBA, CGP #PY4401

Dr. Sloane is a licensed psychologist, board certified behavior analyst and a group psychotherapist. She is an experienced clinician who provides compassionate support to adults (18-80+) dealing with difficult life transitions. She helps her clients develop self-understanding and compassion and learn healthy coping tools to reduce emotional distress and improve life satisfaction.

Debra Sloane, Psy.D., BCBA, CGP

Dr. Sloane received her undergraduate degrees in psychology from the University of Florida and Florida Tech, respectively. She completed her clinical internship training at the University of South Florida’s Counseling Center for Human Development and post-doctoral training at Sea Pines Rehabilitation Hospital. She served as the director of Behavioral Medicine at Sea Pines for 10 years. She is a licenced psychotherapist, board certified behavior analyst, certified group psychotherapist and certified sex therapist.

Dr. Sloane served as a clinical coordinator at the College Internship Program, Brevard Center providing clinical services for students with an autism spectrum disorder or learning difference. She conducted individual therapy, group therapy, family consultation, staff training, social skills training, sexuality education, social mentor program coordination and extensive community outreach / education. She later worked at the Florida Tech’s College Counseling Center as a staff psychologist and group therapy coordinator for 10 years assisting college aged students with a variety of concerns including challenges associated with autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, learning differences, depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, and sexuality health issues.

Dr. Sloane’s professional interests include emotional health and wellness, developing healthy relationships, reducing co-dependency, improving self-esteem, managing grief and loss, coping with aging and disability and reducing perfectionism. She conducts individual, couples and group psychotherapy utilizing evidence based treatment including cognitive-behavioral, family systems and applied behavioral analysis interventions. She provides LGBTQ + affirmative care. She is a member of the Florida Psychological Association, Florida Group Psychotherapy Society and American Group Psychotherapy Association.
